Reus, 2008

Outlet PC was born in Reus (Tarragona) in 2008, founded by a team of young individuals.

After the havoc caused by the crisis, with huge stock surpluses and a paralyzed market, we discovered that there were many opportunities to offer you. We got to work and opened the first physical store.

Due to its great success, and as it could not be otherwise, we decided to expand the initial project to other countries, thanks to our online store. After many years of activity, we now have a large and diverse team that is fully committed to meeting the demands of all the families who have placed their trust in us.

Our mission is to provide the best opportunities for customers, with total guarantee, quality, and competitive prices.

We purchase clearances, products with damaged packaging, refurbished items, and other similar materials. Thanks to these factors, the prices you see on our website can be surprisingly low. Don't worry; this is our way of working and of satisfying our customers' needs, as well as contributing in a socially responsible way to reducing the impact of current production processes on the environment.

Circular Economy

We live in a society with unsustainable consumption habits. The obsolescence and variety of demanded products generate an excess of production that results in a surplus of goods.

Online consumers have the right to make commercial returns during the 14 days following their purchase. Although necessary, this generates a large number of "orphaned" products that, having been opened and handled, cannot be resold as new.

Manufacturers

Why do they destroy perfectly sellable products instead of refurbishing or reselling them?

Many manufacturers end up destroying perfectly sellable products, including new ones, under the pretext of not harming their image or pricing position, instead of opting for recycling or refurbishing the product, which in most cases is in perfect condition. Sometimes they do it indirectly, letting distribution handle it, thus washing their hands of it.

There are also cases where products are sent to other continents to avoid channel conflicts, closing their eyes to the waste going elsewhere in the world. With this, some manufacturers prefer not to be transparent with this product to ensure its destruction, sending it abroad, and thus ensuring that their products do not appear with discounts in the market.

They may think they are avoiding problems for their brand, but our planet is facing increasing sustainability issues every day. There are also product donations, which we appreciate, but we question whether we should donate products that are waste instead of donating new products, or sales to employees, although in the vast majority of cases the quantity of product is much greater than the employees' purchasing capacity.

Pollution and waste levels not only affect the culprits but also impact developing countries due to the lack of infrastructure for recycling. The illegal export of technological scrap jeopardizes the lives of workers in those countries.

Of electronic waste generated in 2018. Discarding an electronic device in the trash is a common practice in large retailers that do not have the capacity or interest to refurbish these products for resale.

A generation of 53.9 million tons of electronic waste is expected in 2025, almost 4 million tons more than in 2018 (500 million).

22.6 kilograms of electronic waste per inhabitant annually. Although this may seem like a minimal amount, it is essential to consider that this is per inhabitant, and when we add up the total in Western Europe, it amounts to a total of 10.2 million tons of electronic waste generated.

100,000 tons of electronic waste were generated in Spain alone in 2016. Spain is the fifth-largest producer of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in the European Union. This figure represents approximately 21% of waste.

We Answer Your Questions

Is refurbished the same as second-hand?

We believe not, but we won't judge you for thinking otherwise. A refurbished product may have been used for a few hours or days, so it is in perfect condition both aesthetically and in terms of performance. The term "second-hand" is associated with products with more extensive use, so we do not consider it appropriate to use that term. We should adopt the term "Refurbished" on its own. In case of making a comparison, the closest would be "Km.0" or manager vehicles, which have been used but are in impeccable condition.

Do these products come with a warranty?

Yes! All our products come with a minimum of 12 months warranty, mostly 24 months. We collaborate with leading European manufacturers and suppliers who maintain the original warranties on their refurbished products. Furthermore, all our products have been thoroughly inspected, both by the manufacturer initially and by us upon receiving the products in our warehouses. Remember that you have 14 days to return a purchase if anything doesn't meet your expectations.
